Onion Vada !!!

A quick snack to munch in evening before tea, it will take just 10 mins to prepare this snack, only thing is cutting onions. Onion is very good for the health, thins the blood, lowers cholesterol, raises good-type HDL cholesterol, fight asthma, diabetes and infections.


Onion   -   3 (medium)
Gram flour  -  7-8 tsp                                                      
Rice flour    -  5-6 tsp
Turmeric powder   -   1/4 tsp
Chilly powder        -    2 tsp
Cumin powder       -    1 tsp
Garlic                     -    3 cloves (minced)
Hing                       -    1/2 tsp
Food color             -    a pinch (optional)
Salt to taste
Oil  to fry


  • Chop the onions and put all the above ingredients except oil.
  • Mix it all together with your fingers.
  • If the mix is dry can sprinkle few drops of water.

  • Heat the oil in a pan and fry the onion vada according to the sizes you prefer.

  • Now the yummy onion vada is ready to serve hot.
